For 3 days we hunt on reputable estates in northern Scotland, for Crowned Hind and Crowned Calf. We hunt on foot in the open terrain, often with long approaches in challenging weather and wind - a form of hunting that requires both focus and physical effort.
The hunt is conducted with the help of experienced Scottish stalkers, and transportation into the mountains is by agile ARGO vehicles before continuing on foot. We hunt according to local game management and aim to take as many hinds and calves from as few herds as possible. There is no limit on the number of game shot and there are no shooting fees, but we follow the guides' shooting plan and their possible restrictions.
Our tour guide will meet you at the airport and take care of everything during the week - accommodation, transfer to the lodge, food and planning. We stay in a classic lodge with full board and good community. These hunting days are intense but in addition to the hunt, there may be the opportunity to visit historic castles, tastings at some of Scotland's most famous whiskey distilleries or why not visit the local pub.
This is more than just hunting - it's a journey filled with nature, tradition and Scottish heritage. A journey for those seeking authentic Highland hunting, culture and world-class scenery.

You can bring your own gun to Scotland, although it is more complicated than in the rest of Europe after Brexit. We recommend borrowing guns on site. These guns are good quality 270win, 308win, 30-06 with appropriate optics and silencers and leg rests.
If you want to bring your own weapon, we will help with this as well. Costs associated with this are paid by the traveler.

The trip starts with a comfortable flight from Sweden to Scotland. Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the airport by your tour guide, who will drive you up to the lodge. He will be with you throughout the week and make sure all the details are taken care of.
During the trip, everything is arranged for you - from hunting and transportation to meals and other activities. The guide will help and take care of everything, giving you the opportunity to focus on the hunt and the amazing nature. Upon arrival, you will receive an introduction to the area and the hunt, and then the week will be filled with hunting experiences, fishing, excursions to whiskey distilleries and castles.

For those who want to discover more of Scotland, it is possible to extend the week and stay one or more extra days to discover Scotland. Please note that this must be planned as the days are very intense during the doe and calf hunt.
Car rental - Freedom to explore
For those of you who want extra freedom and flexibility during the week, we offer the opportunity to upgrade to a rental car. This is mainly for those who want to extend their trip with one or more extra days. The rental car is picked up directly at the airport on arrival and can be used throughout your stay. This allows you to explore everything from nearby villages and castles to hunting shops and whisky distilleries at your own pace.
The cost of the rental car varies depending on the type of car, but is usually around £1,000 per day for a fully insured mid-range car. With a rental car, you can also have a genuine Scottish lunch in a pub or find your own fishing spots to explore. Keep in mind that traffic in Scotland drives on the left, so be prepared for this when driving.
Day 1: Departure for the Scottish Highlands!
The adventure begins! After arriving in Scotland, you will be met at the airport by your tour guide and transfer driver, who will take you north through the beautiful Scottish countryside. Already during the car journey, the pace starts to slow down and the first impressions of the dramatic highlands make themselves felt.
You'll check into a classic British lodge - a secluded and charming spot with stunning views of the rolling countryside and the river flowing below. Here you'll find accommodation that combines traditional Scottish character with the comforts needed to truly relax after long days in the mountains.
The evening is rounded off with a welcome dinner prepared and served by your host. Days 2-4: The start of the hunting days
After waking up in the magnificent setting of the Scottish Highlands, the day begins with a hearty and tasty breakfast - a classic Full English to energize us for the day's hunting adventure.
After breakfast, the groups head out to their respective hunting grounds. Some may start directly from the lodge, while others are driven to nearby estates where the day's hunting begins. During the day you are out in the mountains, and since we are hunting far from settlements, a simple lunch is packed already in the morning - perfect to take out into the terrain.
After a long day among windswept heights, steep slopes and perhaps a traditional whiskey with ghillien in the slaughterhouse, the whole group returns to the lodge. There, a well-deserved dinner awaits - a time to unwind, share the day's experiences and enjoy good food in the best company.
Day 5: We thank Scotland for this magical hunting adventure.
After days filled with hunting, fishing and good times, it is now time to say goodbye to Scotland. We gather for a final breakfast, where we remember the wonderful adventures and laughter we shared. During your stay, you'll stay in a classic British lodge, beautifully situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. The lodge offers magnificent views of the mountains, and a river runs below, creating a peaceful and natural atmosphere - perfect after a day in the mountains. Brora, a charming little village with shops and pubs, is only 20 minutes away.
You will be staying with a party of around 10 hunters, and accommodation is generally in shared double rooms. The lodge is rustic and genuine, but offers good comfort with spacious bedrooms, drying rooms, functional bathrooms and common areas where you can socialize in front of a crackling fire.
Our dedicated tour leaders are on hand throughout the week to ensure you have a comfortable and memorable experience. They are also responsible for all meals. Each morning starts with a classic English breakfast - hearty and energizing, perfect for the day's hunt.
In the evening, homemade two- or three-course dinners are served, often prepared with local ingredients. Wine is served with dinner, while other drinks such as beer or whiskey can be purchased locally or brought along. The guides will help coordinate any purchases.
Lunch consists of a simple packed lunch - sandwiches, fruit and snacks - which is packed in the morning and taken out into the field. There is no seated lunch served in the lodge, giving you the freedom to focus entirely on hunting and nature during the day.
The water in Scotland can usually be drunk directly from the tap, but if you have a sensitive stomach, we recommend buying bottled water in shops.
Hunting takes place on a variety of private estates in the northern Highlands of Scotland - all with similar character and a sense of unspoiled wilderness. These estates cover huge areas, often between 10,000 and 30,000 hectares, allowing for genuine Stalking in magnificent scenery.
The landscape is typical of the Scottish Highlands: open moorland, gently rolling hills, deep valleys and sweeping vistas. Here, red deer roam freely across the land, often in small groups. There are plenty of red deer, and you will usually shoot at least one red deer per day with a guide.
Hunting is done with the support of local, experienced gamekeepers, who know the land inside out. We mainly target older or smaller deer, while capital animals that have not yet reached their full potential are saved according to their game management.
However, the weather plays a big role
The Scottish Highlands are known for their rapid changes in weather, and fog in particular can severely affect hunting. In dense fog, visibility can become so limited that the hunt must be temporarily paused. It's a natural part of the experience and helps make every deer shot feel truly deserved.

Hunting takes place mainly on open plains high up in the highlands, where red deer live wild in herds. Unlike trophy hunting in other parts of Europe, the focus here is on selective shooting - taking older animals or deer with weaker dispositions. Game is plentiful, and most people harvest their red deer in the first few days. At the same time, the weather can have an impact - fog or strong winds can force breaks in the hunt, which is part of the authentic experience.
How the hunt works
The hunt is conducted in pyrsch form and almost always in a 2:1 arrangement - two hunters share a local guide, a so-called stalker. The day begins with you being transported out into the fields with ARGO, a tracked off-road vehicle adapted for the demanding highland terrain. Once in the right place, the hunt begins on foot - often uphill, into headwinds and with full focus on sneaking close without being detected.
The stalker will guide you through the vast landscape, searching for the right herds and making assessments according to the management objectives of the land. Once a suitable deer is identified, stalking begins - an intense and often physical process where you try to get within shooting range of the challenging terrain with the utmost care.
The aim is to shoot as few animals as possible from as few herds as possible - to minimize disturbance and impact on other wildlife. It is a form of hunting where skill, patience and ethics go hand in hand.

It was a cold December morning, around three degrees below zero and a thin layer of frost covered the ground. The sky was half cloudy, with a faint light filtering down over the mountains. Immediately after breakfast we set out with the stalker and after a short ride on the eight-wheeler we started to creep forward on foot.

Before your departure
Once you have booked your dream hunting trip with us, you will receive a booking confirmation by email. After that, we will ask you for some additional information, depending on your destination and type of hunting. Your trip will be saved in your Booking Portal where you can manage payments and find additional information for your trip.
For travel outside Europe, we send you two departure letters: the first one about two months before departure and the second one with all the final information, about 40 days before departure, in connection with the final payment. For travel within Europe, we send you a single departure letter around 40 days before departure.
In these departure letters you will find everything you need for your trip, from packing lists and clothing recommendations to tips, offers and information on additional pre-departure details. You will receive your flight tickets around 14 days before departure.
During your departure
During your hunting trip, it is good to keep track of any trapping fees. These are available both here on the website and in your booking portal. We are available on WhatsApp in the group we create a few days before departure, throughout your trip to help if needed or answer questions.

After your departure
Once you are back home, full of impressions and memories of the hunt, trap fees may apply. These will be sent to you within 24 hours of your return and need to be paid immediately.
If you have chosen to bring trophies home, you will be contacted by our trophy management contact, who will inform you about the process, costs and next steps. Please note that depending on the country, it can take up to 2 years before your trophies are fully assembled and at your home. We always follow up and make sure you feel safe all the way, even after the journey is over.

After the hunt, we ensure that your trophy is handled professionally and according to all applicable rules. Our local partners are responsible for the initial handling - often boiling and preparing for transportation. If you choose a more advanced mount, such as a bow mount, this is often carried out directly on site by local taxidermists. After that, export documents, veterinary certificates and customs documents are handled in cooperation with our experienced freight forwarders.
Waidmann offers help with the entire process - from on-site handling to transportation home. We are there to support you every step of the way and are happy to provide advice on installation and the choice of conservator. At the same time, you as a customer have full freedom to choose to manage the process on your own if you prefer.
The delivery time for trophies varies depending on the country of hunting and the type of trophy, but we will keep you updated throughout the process.
Going on a hunting trip means new experiences and memories for life. Unfortunately, it's not possible to control everything that happens, and sometimes unexpected things happen that can cause problems. So it's good to be insured both before and during your trip.
Often the travel protection included in home insurance and credit cards does not cover everything you need or want.

The rules for using silencers vary from country to country. In Sweden and many other European countries, silencers are allowed and often recommended for hunting. However, in some countries, such as Spain, Poland, Serbia and Croatia, they are prohibited.
When you book a trip with Waidmann, you will always be given clear information about what applies in the hunting country in question.
Traveling with hunting weapons is possible, but it requires proper documentation and planning. Exactly what is needed depends on the country you are traveling to, but in general the following applies:
European travel: For hunting trips within the EU, a European firearms pass is required, which you apply for at the Police. We recommend that you apply directly when booking, as the processing time can be several weeks. You also need to notify Swedish Customs that you are taking your firearm out of the country. In most cases, a special invitation or hunting license is also required from the country you are going to hunt in - we at Waidmann will make sure you get this in good time.

Travel outside the EU: For example, for Africa or other continents, a temporary arms export via the Swedish Customs is usually required, as well as a hunting license, invitation and sometimes a temporary import license. Rules vary from country to country, but Waidmann ensures that everything is handled correctly from the start, so you avoid uncertainty and hassle upon entry.
Air transportation: Your weapon must be transported in an approved, lockable gun case or bag. Ammunition is packed separately according to the airline's security rules. Weapon transportation must be notified to the airline in advance - if Waidmann books your flight, we will handle this notification and the entire process for you.
Waidmann has extensive experience in hunting trips with weapons and is with you throughout the process. You will receive clear instructions and the right documentation in good time before departure. If you want to travel without your own weapon, it is often possible to rent weapons on site, depending on the destination.
You can definitely book as a solo hunter with Waidmann! We offer both planned trips for single hunters, as well as small and large groups.

Booking a hunting trip with Waidmann is easy and we offer several convenient payment options. Here are the steps for booking and payment:
Booking and booking portal: Once you have booked your hunting trip, you will have access to your personal booking portal. In the booking portal, you pay a booking fee of 30% of the total amount of the trip, which must be paid within 10 days for the booking to be confirmed.
In the booking portal, you manage your entire trip - you fill in your contact details, make payments and receive ongoing updates and all important information before departure. Everything in one place.
Flight booking: If Waidmann books the flight for you, the flight cost is paid in full as a second payment at the time of booking the flight.
Final payment: The remaining amount is paid closer to departure, and the final payment must be made at least 40 days before departure.
Trap fees, if any: If there are trap fees, these are payable 24 hours after returning from the trip.
Payment: You can easily pay by card, Trustly, Swish or invoice. If you would like an invoice, please contact us and we will arrange it for you.
Cancellation: In case of cancellation, the following cancellation fees apply:
30% of the price of the trip between the time of booking and 40 days before departure.
100% of the price of the trip between 39 days before departure and the day of departure itself.
Flights: If the flight is booked by Waidmann and you cancel the trip, the flight price is paid at 100%.
We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, especially for exclusive or long-distance trips, to protect yourself against unforeseen events. We offer cancellation cover through ERV.

We recommend that you book your hunting trip at least 6-18 months in advance, especially if you have specific preferences for the type of hunt, destination or timing. Some trips, such as those to popular destinations in high season or with a limited number of places, book up quickly.
However, it is often no problem to book at short notice, as long as there is availability. We have good experience of helping hunters out at short notice when the opportunity exists.
For exclusive or tailor-made hunting trips, as well as trips outside Europe that require more extensive documentation and planning, it is a clear advantage to be in the know well in advance. It gives us a better chance of securing the best hunting grounds, accommodation and flight connections - and you'll have plenty of time to arrange permits, gun exports and other preparations at your leisure.
