Join us on an unforgettable hunt for Spanish Ibex in Spain's most iconic mountain ranges. A physical and challenging hunt that will take you through magnificent scenery in search of one of Europe's most coveted trophies - the beautiful and vigilant Ibex.
Spain is home to four different subspecies of Ibex, and we offer hunts for all of them:
South Eastern Ibex - The mighty Sierra Nevada mountains
Beceite Ibex - Rocky and dramatic Beceite massif
Gredos Ibex - Wild and beautiful Gredos chain
Ronda Ibex - Historic Ronda Mountains
Each mountain range has its own character, from rocky passes to rugged slopes. But whatever the area, the basics are the same: steep climbs, vigilant bucks and a hunt that tests both physics and marksmanship.
For two intense days, we move between peaks and valleys, constantly on the lookout for mature, big bucks. When the right animal appears, we begin the stealthy hunt, methodically and with respect for the game, until we reach a suitable location. Shots often fall at longer ranges, between 200 and 300 meters, so it is necessary to have the weapon loaded and the shooter ready.
The hunt takes place in the first light of dawn and in the afternoon when the shadows fall over the mountains. In the middle of the day we take a break and reload with good food and recharge for the evening pass. After the hunt, dinner awaits at local restaurants where we gather, review the day's experiences and prepare for the next day's challenges.
The accommodation is handpicked! Charming hotels in the nearest town with a short distance to the hunting grounds. Here we rest properly, eat well and recharge our batteries for the next dawn in the mountains.

What is a Shooting fee:
A trapping fee is a cost incurred when a game animal is trapped during a hunting trip. The fee is often based on the animal's trophy size, species, sex, weight - for example, the shape of its horns or tusks. Trapping fees are a common part of hunting management in many countries and serve as an important incentive for responsible hunting.
Why are there Shooting fees:
Shooting fees are an important part of the setup of many of our trips, and they enable responsible and long-term wildlife management. The revenue from these fees is used by local hunting organizations to fund all their activities - from inventory and game management to land maintenance, staff salaries, game damage prevention and administration. Without shooting fees, it would be difficult to conduct hunting that is both sustainable and well-organized.
Important to consider:
The amount of the shooting fee depends on what is shot. In some cases, there is a fixed price per game, while in others it is determined by the type and size of the trophy. It is also important to note that in some cases, game shot or injured and not found may be subject to a fee.
And remember - hunting is hunting. There are no guarantees about what will happen during the hunting days. Game movements, weather conditions, hunting luck and other factors always come into play. This is what makes hunting alive, exciting and real.
Another important factor is the hunter's own skill. Experience, reaction time, accuracy and the ability to read the terrain vary greatly between different hunters. Our job is to create the best possible conditions through well-organized arrangements and experienced guides - but the hunt itself and the result are always on nature's and the hunter's terms.
On the payment of trap fees:
Payment is generally made as follows: When you return from your trip, you will receive a summary list of the game you have killed and the total amount of the trapping fees, in your booking portal. This sum must be paid within three days, unless otherwise agreed. The measurement of any trophies is usually done by the organizer and forms the basis of the final fee.
Our promise to you:
At Waidmann, transparency and security are always in focus. You will be fully informed about what is included in your hunting trip and what possible trapping fees may apply - no surprises. We only work with professional and reputable operators who work according to clear and ethical guidelines. You can rest assured that everything is correct, so you can focus on the hunt and the experience.
When you book a hunting trip with Waidmann Hunting Tours , you can opt for our flight package for an additional cost, making your trip both more comfortable and safer. The flight package includes a round-trip airline ticket and transfers between the airport and your accommodation, so you can easily get to and from the hunting area.

In the morning
The day starts early with a hearty Spanish breakfast before we roll out to the hunting grounds. When dawn breaks the horizon, we are already there, up in the mountains, where ibex move freely. With binoculars, we scan the cliffs, crevices and heights. It's steep, it's physical and it's just as it should be.
In the middle of the day
When the sun is high, we pause the hunt. We have a Spanish lunch in the field or return to the village to rest. This time is also used to check equipment, rest legs and recharge for the next hunting adventure!
Afternoon
When the heat has died down and the light is softer, we go out again. The animals are moving more actively now. We change places, seek new ones. New ridges, new angles. It's often in the afternoon that it happens, when the excitement is in the air and every movement in the binoculars could be the buck we've been looking for all day.
Evening
As the day draws to a close, we gather at a local restaurant near the hunting area. Here we will enjoy delicious Spanish food, local wines and a warm, genuine atmosphere. We summarize the day's hunting experiences, share stories and mentally prepare for the next day's challenges. Overnight in a charming hotel in a nearby village, where we sleep well - close to the mountains, close to the hunt.

During your hunting trip, you will stay comfortably in the nearest town, in carefully selected hotels that combine good standards with a genuine local atmosphere. The hotels are cozy and offer a much-needed rest after the day's strenuous hikes in the mountains.
The location is optimal with a short distance to the hunting grounds, making it easy and convenient to get out hunting quickly every morning. At the same time, you are close to the city's charming restaurants, where you can enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine and local specialties.
It is a perfect balance of comfort, culture and proximity to nature to give you the best possible conditions during your hunting experience.
Our hunting grounds are a mosaic of Spain's most rugged and demanding mountain ranges, with each area a world of its own, characterized by rocky cliffs, steep slopes and impenetrable crevices. It is here, among these wild landscapes, that the Spanish Ibex reigns supreme, a symbol of strength, endurance and raw nature.
In the Sierra Nevada, the dramatic southeastern slopes spread out, where the South Eastern Ibex lurks in the steep cliffs, ever vigilant and elusive. Strong legs and keen eyes are required to follow the animals' movements across the rugged terrain. Every step is a tactical decision, every stealth a battle against both altitude and wind.
In the Beceite Mountains, the hunter is tested on cunning and patience. The Beceite Ibex thrives in areas where the rock alternates between sunny slopes and shady ravines. It's a landscape where visibility is often limited by thickets and bushes, making the hunt a silent and concentrated battle where every movement counts.
The Gredos Mountains are the barren heart of the ibex's domain. Here, the Gredos Ibex moves in large territories over barren, windy ridges and deep valleys. The hunt is physically demanding with long day marches and demanding altitude meters, while it requires a sharp eye and safe marking over often long ranges, here the respect for both weapons and hunters grows.
The Ronda Mountains have a rich history and are home to the Ronda Ibex, whose strength and ferocity have been admired by generations of hunters. The terrain is varied, with deep ravines, steep cliffs and sweeping vistas, where every hunt is a challenge and an encounter with both nature and tradition.
Whatever the mountain range, hunting is always a battle of wits. Here we hunt on foot, with care and respect for the rhythm of nature, in an environment that requires both physical endurance and a keen mind. Stealth in this tough terrain is an art, a test and a reward that few get to experience.
It's a hunt that evokes the true hunter's spirit - where every shot, every step and every breath counts in the wild halls of the mountains.
Hunting the Spanish Ibex is a true mountain hunt that tests the body and mind. It is a form of hunting characterized by physical challenges with long hikes in steep, rocky and often uneven terrain where every step requires vigilance and balance.
The hunt is mainly stealthy, on foot, where patience and precision are essential. The Ibex is a cunning and vigilant opponent that is used to moving in impenetrable environments and sharp rocks. Scouting the area with binoculars before sneaking is an obvious part of the hunt, as well as planning on the move and finding the right angle of attack.
It places high demands on both equipment and shooting skills. A well-loaded rifle and safe breathing are just as important as remaining calm at every stage.
It is a hunt for the experienced hunter who is looking for a real challenge, a hunt that requires body, mind and courage but which rewards with an unforgettable experience in one of Europe's most magnificent wildernesses.

Spain is famous for its wines. A wine tasting is an opportunity to learn more about the region's specialties and enjoy tasty wines in beautiful surroundings.
Add a wine tasting to your Monteria trip and experience another side of Spain's rich culture. Visit a local bodega in the area - often a family-owned winery with a long tradition - where you can go behind the scenes and learn about wine production from grape to bottle.
During the tasting, you will taste several different wines from the region, often accompanied by small snacks such as cheese, charcuterie and bread. A knowledgeable guide will explain the different grape varieties, production methods and flavors, deepening the experience and giving a new perspective on Spanish wine tradition.
Taking place in beautiful surroundings - often in a courtyard, wine cellar or overlooking the vines - wine tasting is both relaxing and inspiring after a day in the woods.
Hunting with Waidmann is not just about the hunt itself but about the whole experience. Meeting other hunters with different experiences and backgrounds makes the trip extra memorable and something I like to share with my own hunting team.
I really appreciate the care that is put into everything around the hunt. The guides are knowledgeable and dedicated, the accommodation is close to the hunting grounds and every evening we get to enjoy local food that reflects the culture and tradition of the place.
It's this holistic approach that makes me happy to recommend Waidmann to other hunters.
Booking a hunting trip is often a long-awaited experience - and with the right preparation, it will be smooth, safe and memorable. Here are some key tips and advice to help you get the most out of your trip:
Choose the right hunt for you
Whether you are an experienced hunter or traveling for the first time, we will help you find the right trip based on your goals, experience and hunting style. Do you want to experience the thrill of a Monteria in Spain, a stealth hunt in Hungary or perhaps a wake hunt for wild boar? We will guide you in the right direction.
Be flexible - Hunting is Hunting
Hunting is always on nature's terms. The weather, the movement of the game and other circumstances can affect the outcome. Although the hunt is the goal, it is often the experience itself - the nature, the camaraderie and the thrill - that becomes the strongest memory.
We're with you all the way
When you book with Waidmann, you get access to a dedicated team with extensive experience in hunting travel. We're on hand before, during and after your trip - whether you need help with trip selection, documentation, gun logistics or something unexpected along the way.
Before your departure
Once you have booked your dream hunting trip with us, you will receive a booking confirmation by email. After that, we will ask you for some additional information, depending on your destination and type of hunting. Your trip will be saved in your Booking Portal where you can manage payments and find additional information for your trip.
For travel outside Europe, we send you two departure letters: the first one about two months before departure and the second one with all the final information, about 40 days before departure, in connection with the final payment. For travel within Europe, we send you a single departure letter around 40 days before departure.
In these departure letters you will find everything you need for your trip, from packing lists and clothing recommendations to tips, offers and information on additional pre-departure details. You will receive your flight tickets around 14 days before departure.
During your departure
During your hunting trip, it is good to keep track of any trapping fees. These are available both here on the website and in your booking portal. We are available on WhatsApp in the group we create a few days before departure, throughout your trip to help if needed or answer questions.
Tip. We really appreciate it when you share pictures and stories from your experiences.
After your departure
Once you are back home, full of impressions and memories of the hunt, trap fees may apply. These will be sent to you within 24 hours of your return and need to be paid immediately.
If you have chosen to bring trophies home, you will be contacted by our trophy management contact, who will inform you about the process, costs and next steps. Please note that depending on the country, it can take up to 2 years before your trophies are fully assembled and at your home. We always follow up and make sure you feel safe all the way, even after the journey is over.
Booking a hunting trip with Waidmann means security, quality and passion. We are one of Sweden's leading organizers of exclusive hunting trips and offer tailor-made experiences where every detail is carefully planned. With our personalized service, experienced guides and close partnerships with carefully selected hunting areas in Europe and Africa, we ensure that you get a hunting trip that exceeds your expectations - whether it's your first trip or your tenth.
With us, you're not just hunting - you're experiencing something bigger.
After the hunt, we ensure that your trophy is handled professionally and according to all applicable rules. Our local partners are responsible for the initial handling - often boiling and preparing for transportation. If you choose a more advanced mount, such as a bow mount, this is often carried out directly on site by local taxidermists. After that, export documents, veterinary certificates and customs documents are handled in cooperation with our experienced freight forwarders.
Waidmann offers help with the entire process - from on-site handling to transportation home. We are there to support you every step of the way and are happy to provide advice on installation and the choice of conservator. At the same time, you as a customer have full freedom to choose to manage the process on your own if you prefer.
The delivery time for trophies varies depending on the country of hunting and the type of trophy, but we will keep you updated throughout the process.
Going on a hunting trip means new experiences and memories for life. Unfortunately, it's not possible to control everything that happens, and sometimes unexpected things happen that can cause problems. So it's good to be insured both before and during your trip.
Often the travel protection included in home insurance and credit cards does not cover everything you need or want.
To make you feel as safe as possible when traveling with us, we have chosen to cooperate with Europeiska ERV, which has over 100 years in the industry. Together with Europeiska ERV, we offer their Travel Insurance Plus and Cancellation Protection. If you want to know more or want to take out an insurance, please contact us and we will help you with this.
The rules for using silencers vary from country to country. In Sweden and many other European countries, silencers are allowed and often recommended for hunting. However, in some countries, such as Spain, Poland, Serbia and Croatia, they are prohibited.
When you book a trip with Waidmann, you will always be given clear information about what applies in the hunting country in question.
Traveling with hunting weapons is possible, but it requires proper documentation and planning. Exactly what is needed depends on the country you are traveling to, but in general the following applies:
European travel: For hunting trips within the EU, a European firearms pass is required, which you apply for at the Police. We recommend that you apply directly when booking, as the processing time can be several weeks. You also need to notify Swedish Customs that you are taking your firearm out of the country. In most cases, a special invitation or hunting license is also required from the country you are going to hunt in - we at Waidmann will make sure you get this in good time.
Read more on the Police website
Travel outside the EU: For example, for Africa or other continents, a temporary arms export via the Swedish Customs is usually required, as well as a hunting license, invitation and sometimes a temporary import license. Rules vary from country to country, but Waidmann ensures that everything is handled correctly from the start, so you avoid uncertainty and hassle upon entry.
Air transportation: Your weapon must be transported in an approved, lockable gun case or bag. Ammunition is packed separately according to the airline's security rules. Weapon transportation must be notified to the airline in advance - if Waidmann books your flight, we will handle this notification and the entire process for you.
Waidmann has extensive experience in hunting trips with weapons and is with you throughout the process. You will receive clear instructions and the right documentation in good time before departure. If you want to travel without your own weapon, it is often possible to rent weapons on site, depending on the destination.
You can definitely book as a solo hunter with Waidmann! We offer both planned trips for single hunters, as well as small and large groups.
We welcome all hunters, whether you are alone or traveling with a group. Many of our hunters find that a hunting trip is a great opportunity to make new friends in hunting. Several of our 'bonded' groups have continued to hunt together years after their first hunting trip with Waidmann.
For those looking for a more personalized experience, we tailor hunting trips for both individual hunters and smaller groups. We also arrange trips for larger groups, where we adapt the experience to the specific needs and wishes of the group. In addition, we have the opportunity to combine several smaller groups to create a common hunting experience, which provides both variety and community.
Whether you are traveling alone or with a group, you can be sure that at Waidmann we will customize your trip to give you the best possible experience.
Booking a hunting trip with Waidmann is easy and we offer several convenient payment options. Here are the steps for booking and payment:
Booking and booking portal: Once you have booked your hunting trip, you will have access to your personal booking portal. In the booking portal, you pay a booking fee of 30% of the total amount of the trip, which must be paid within 10 days for the booking to be confirmed.
In the booking portal, you manage your entire trip - you fill in your contact details, make payments and receive ongoing updates and all important information before departure. Everything in one place.
Flight booking: If Waidmann books the flight for you, the flight cost is paid in full as a second payment at the time of booking the flight.
Final payment: The remaining amount is paid closer to departure, and the final payment must be made at least 40 days before departure.
Trap fees, if any: If there are trap fees, these are payable 24 hours after returning from the trip.
Payment: You can easily pay by card, Trustly, Swish or invoice. If you would like an invoice, please contact us and we will arrange it for you.
Cancellation: In case of cancellation, the following cancellation fees apply:
30% of the price of the trip between the time of booking and 40 days before departure.
100% of the price of the trip between 39 days before departure and the day of departure itself.
Flights: If the flight is booked by Waidmann and you cancel the trip, the flight price is paid at 100%.
We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, especially for exclusive or long-distance trips, to protect yourself against unforeseen events. We offer cancellation cover through ERV.
For questions about payment, booking or cancellation, you are always welcome to contact us. We are here to help you through the whole process.
We recommend that you book your hunting trip at least 6-18 months in advance, especially if you have specific preferences for the type of hunt, destination or timing. Some trips, such as those to popular destinations in high season or with a limited number of places, book up quickly.
However, it is often no problem to book at short notice, as long as there is availability. We have good experience of helping hunters out at short notice when the opportunity exists.
For exclusive or tailor-made hunting trips, as well as trips outside Europe that require more extensive documentation and planning, it is a clear advantage to be in the know well in advance. It gives us a better chance of securing the best hunting grounds, accommodation and flight connections - and you'll have plenty of time to arrange permits, gun exports and other preparations at your leisure.
Absolutely, many of our guests are making their very first hunting trip abroad with us. We have a lot of experience in looking after first-timers and making sure you feel safe throughout the process.
We help you with everything from choosing the right type of hunt and destination to preparation, documentation and equipment. During the trip, you will always have access to experienced guides and organizers who will support you both practically and mentally in the hunt.
For those who do not have their own equipment or want to travel light, it is usually possible to rent weapons and other equipment on site. We also adapt the level of difficulty, organization and expectations to your level of experience.
Whether it's your first hunting trip or you've been out many times before, we'll make sure you have a personalized and professionally executed experience.
