Join us for a traditional adventure in Spain's beautiful countryside.

The background to the implementation of the large Monteria in Spain is that it is only allowed to carry out hunting with dogs in an area once a year. The land must be at least 500 hectares in size and usually ranges between 1 000 and 15 000 hectares. The hunt is conducted as a large drive hunt with one hunt per day using a large number of dogs.

Monteria has been run in this way for many generations and a significant amount of game is harvested once a year, leaving the game and land to rest for the rest of the year.

During the Monteria that we organize, it is common that we kill between 200 and 300 game during three days of hunting. This can vary depending on the size of the hunting party and the specific area we hunt in and how well the shooters manage their shooting opportunities. The most common game species include red deer, wild boar, some areas also have fallow deer and mouflon sheep.

The hunt starts in the morning after a Spanish breakfast and the drive lasts about three to five hours. The hunting day ends with a traditional Spanish lunch in the hunting grounds.

We work with professional hunting organizations on site with extensive experience that strive to offer outstanding hunting experiences. They have been organizing Monteria hunts in Spain for many years and have a deep understanding of the areas we hunt in. They will be with us throughout the trip and ensure that all guests are satisfied and happy.

We hunt for three days in three different areas. Accommodation and hunting areas vary and are adapted to each other and travel distance.

The trip includes sharing a double room, single rooms can be arranged on request. However, it should be noted that it may be more difficult to get single rooms when staying at the lodges due to the limited number of rooms.

Hunting trip in Spain

For three days we hunt red deer and wild boar using the classic Monteria method of hunting.

The morning starts around 08.00 with a light breakfast at the accommodation before heading to the hunting ground.

Once there, we are welcomed by the Spaniards in charge of the hunting ground and set up tables with tapas and a second Monteria-style breakfast. The drawing of the day's pass takes place after breakfast and each hunter is assigned a personal secretary who will assist during the pass. Each hunter is given a small bag of tapas to enjoy during the session.

We are taken out and placed on our passes and given information about where our pass neighbors are and which shooting directions are prohibited. The hunt lasts 3-5 hours, giving us time to enjoy our tapas between shots.

After an exciting day of hunting, the shoot ends and the hunting patrols collect the killed game while the shooters go to the assembly point. Here a traditional Spanish lunch is served.

After enjoying the food, it's time for the game parade.

After the parade, we return to the accommodation. A lovely and large dinner awaits us in the evening, where we can continue to share our experiences and enjoy the evening together.

A hunting trip to Spain during a Monteria means much more than just really fun and good hunting.

The trip offers an incredibly social and enjoyable experience. We will experience plenty of game, enjoy good food and delicious wines, glorious sunshine and beautiful scenery.

Attending a Monteria is truly something different from the drive hunts in the rest of Europe. It is a unique and exciting experience that we highly recommend to those who are looking for something out of the ordinary.
