Slovakia is one of Europe's most classic and renowned countries for mouflon hunting, and in the fall, these grounds offer top-class hunting for truly large trophy rams.
Available dates in 2026:
Are you ready to experience a magnificent mouflon hunt in Slovakia's wildlife-rich mountain and forest landscape? Here you will find hilly terrain, open mountain ridges, and classic Stalking demands physical fitness, concentration, and hunting experience. The hunt is characterized by long observations, well-planned approaches, and intense hunting situations in magnificent natural surroundings.
Slovakia is one of Europe's best-known countries for mouflon hunting, and autumn is the best time of year for hunting. The strong herds provide excellent conditions for hunting older, fully grown mouflon rams of medal class, where selection and timing are key.
This is a hunting experience for those seeking authentic premium-class mouflon hunting, where nature, game quality, and the hunting experience as a whole are just as important as the trophy itself.

What is a Shooting fee:
A trapping fee is a cost incurred when a game animal is trapped during a hunting trip. The fee is often based on the animal's trophy size, species, sex, weight - for example, the shape of its horns or tusks. Trapping fees are a common part of hunting management in many countries and serve as an important incentive for responsible hunting.
Why are there Shooting fees:
Shooting fees are an important part of the setup of many of our trips, and they enable responsible and long-term wildlife management. The revenue from these fees is used by local hunting organizations to fund all their activities - from inventory and game management to land maintenance, staff salaries, game damage prevention and administration. Without shooting fees, it would be difficult to conduct hunting that is both sustainable and well-organized.
Important to consider:
The amount of the shooting fee depends on what is shot. In some cases, there is a fixed price per game, while in others it is determined by the type and size of the trophy. It is also important to note that in some cases, game shot or injured and not found may be subject to a fee.
And remember - hunting is hunting. There are no guarantees about what will happen during the hunting days. Game movements, weather conditions, hunting luck and other factors always come into play. This is what makes hunting alive, exciting and real.
Another important factor is the hunter's own skill. Experience, reaction time, accuracy and the ability to read the terrain vary greatly between different hunters. Our job is to create the best possible conditions through well-organized arrangements and experienced guides - but the hunt itself and the result are always on nature's and the hunter's terms.
On the payment of trap fees:
Payment is generally made as follows: When you return from your trip, you will receive a summary list of the game you have killed and the total amount of the trapping fees, in your booking portal. This sum must be paid within three days, unless otherwise agreed. The measurement of any trophies is usually done by the organizer and forms the basis of the final fee.
Our promise to you:
At Waidmann, transparency and security are always in focus. You will be fully informed about what is included in your hunting trip and what possible trapping fees may apply - no surprises. We only work with professional and reputable operators who work according to clear and ethical guidelines. You can rest assured that everything is correct, so you can focus on the hunt and the experience.

This is the hunt that awakens something extra. Long mornings in silence, sharp glances across open areas, and that concentration that comes when every movement matters. The pace shifts between intense excitement and total silence, where the hunt takes place on nature's terms and the tension builds step by step.
Here you hunt in game-rich areas with varied terrain that offer new challenges every day. There are many observations to be made, carefully planned approaches and crucial decisions. It is a hunt that requires presence, patience and hunting instinct, but which also rewards you with powerful experiences and memories that will stay with you for a long time.
Between passes, everyone gathers, reflects on the day's impressions, and recharges for the next occasion. The conversations continue late into the evening, and it is often here, in the community and anticipation of the next day, that the journey truly takes shape.
A hunt that you can feel in your body, that stays in your memory and makes you want more.
Day 1: Arrival in Slovakia and preparation for the hunt
The journey takes us to the heart of Slovakia, where mountains, forests, and open fields set the tone for the week ahead. Upon arrival at our accommodation, we check in and have time to settle in, unpack, and familiarize ourselves with the surroundings. The evening begins at a leisurely pace with a joint review of the hunting plan and what to expect in the coming days. This is followed by a well-composed dinner in pleasant company – a perfect start to the adventure and a chance to recharge before the first day of hunting.
Days 2–4: Intense hunting days in Slovakia's wild lands
The hunting days start early. After breakfast, we head out on the first morning hunt, when the mouflon are most active and the light slowly creeps over the mountain ridges and forest areas. The hunt is conducted as classic Stalking hilly terrain, with long observations, carefully planned approaches, and a focus on selection and the right moment.
In the middle of the day, there is time for rest, recovery, and a hearty lunch before it is time to prepare for the afternoon and evening hunt. The evening hunt often offers magical lighting conditions and intense hunting situations, where concentration and patience are truly put to the test.
After the hunt is over, we gather in the evenings around well-prepared food and good drinks, where the day's events are summarized and tomorrow's possibilities are discussed in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
Day 5: Return home and conclusion of a memorable hunting adventure
After breakfast, it's time to check out and say goodbye to the hunting grounds. With strong memories, new experiences, and for many, a hunting experience that will stay with them for a long time, we head home after a few intense and unforgettable days in Slovakia's wild nature.
During your stay in Slovakia, you will stay at exclusive hunting lodges or carefully selected local hotels, strategically located close to the hunting grounds. The accommodations are of a high standard and offer a peaceful and comfortable environment, perfect for recovering after long and intense days of hunting.
The rooms are comfortable and cozy, with a focus on comfort and relaxation. In the evenings, we gather around well-prepared food, often cooked by a private chef or featuring local specialties, where the day's hunt is summarized in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Here, there is time to unwind, share experiences, and recharge for the next day of hunting.
The proximity of the accommodation to the hunting grounds makes it an ideal base for this hunting trip, where quality, tranquility, and the overall experience are the focus.
Wi-Fi: Available at the accommodation
Meals: Full board with well-prepared food and local ingredients
Location: Close to and strategically located in relation to hunting grounds
The hunting grounds in Slovakia are among the most renowned in Europe for mouflon hunting and offer hunting at its best in wild, hilly and varied terrain with a strong tradition and long-term game management. The landscape is characterized by vast deciduous and coniferous forests, open mountain ridges, pastures, and steep slopes. An ideal environment for large, old mouflon rams with impressive horns.
Hunting on these grounds is conducted using traditional stalking and adaptation techniques, often at longer ranges with good observation opportunities. It is a type of hunting that requires patience, precision, and the right decisions at the right moments, rewarding the hunter with an intense and genuine experience in unspoiled nature.
Thanks to strict and well-planned wildlife management, there is a high proportion of fully grown rams of medal class here, with very good opportunities to observe several mature top rams during the same hunting day. The grounds offer hunting characterized by quality, tradition, and powerful experiences, whether you are an experienced mouflon hunter or encountering the species for the first time.
Here we are in high mountain terrain, where the mountainsides drop dramatically into valleys. It is in this wild and inaccessible environment that mouflon sheep live – alert, swift-footed, and perfectly adapted to the mountains.
The hunt takes place as a pyrsch - stealth hunting on foot - where we walk at a calm but determined pace, scout with binoculars, judge distances and sneak up on the right animal. It is a form of hunting that requires patience, physical strength and experience. The terrain is often steep, rocky and unpredictable, making every step meaningful and every shot an achievement.
The guides know the land well and help to read the landscape, find the right trophy and decide when it's time to set up. Shooting distances are often long - 200 meters or more - so it's important to have a well-loaded gun and good shooting skills.
This is hunting for those who want to challenge themselves, both physically and mentally, while experiencing nature at its best.
At Waidmann, we're proud to offer a wide selection of game species to suit all types of hunters. Here's an overview of the species that can be hunted on this trip - complete with quick facts, hunting insights and game management information.

For those who want to get the most out of the hunt, there is the option of adding an extra day of hunting. The basic trip includes three intensive days of hunting with a focus on quality, selection, and experience. An extra day gives you more time in the field, greater flexibility in the hunt, and better opportunities to wait for the right situation and the right animal.
The extra hunting day is conducted in the same way as the other hunting days, together with an experienced guide and with a focus on calmness, precision, and hunting at the right pace. A popular option for those who want to deepen the experience and really take advantage of the potential of these well-maintained and game-rich grounds.
The first day of hunting was just like you dream it would be. We set out early and hunted in hilly terrain from morning to evening, with a guide dedicated entirely to me. When we finally spotted an old buck in the distance, we began a calm and exciting stalk where every step counted.
After the hunt, well-prepared food and a warm atmosphere awaited us in the evening. Summarizing the day together made the experience complete.
Booking a hunting trip is often a long-awaited experience - and with the right preparation, it will be smooth, safe and memorable. Here are some key tips and advice to help you get the most out of your trip:
Choose the right hunt for you
Whether you are an experienced hunter or traveling for the first time, we will help you find the right trip based on your goals, experience and hunting style. Do you want to experience the thrill of a Monteria in Spain, a stealth hunt in Hungary or perhaps a wake hunt for wild boar? We will guide you in the right direction.
Be flexible - Hunting is Hunting
Hunting is always on nature's terms. The weather, the movement of the game and other circumstances can affect the outcome. Although the hunt is the goal, it is often the experience itself - the nature, the camaraderie and the thrill - that becomes the strongest memory.
We're with you all the way
When you book with Waidmann, you get access to a dedicated team with extensive experience in hunting travel. We're on hand before, during and after your trip - whether you need help with trip selection, documentation, gun logistics or something unexpected along the way.

During your departure
During your hunting trip, it is good to keep track of any trapping fees. These are available both here on the website and in your booking portal. We are available on WhatsApp in the group we create a few days before departure, throughout your trip to help if needed or answer questions.
Tip. We really appreciate it when you share pictures and stories from your experiences.

Booking a hunting trip with Waidmann means security, quality and passion. We are one of Sweden's leading organizers of exclusive hunting trips and offer tailor-made experiences where every detail is carefully planned. With our personalized service, experienced guides and close partnerships with carefully selected hunting areas in Europe and Africa, we ensure that you get a hunting trip that exceeds your expectations - whether it's your first trip or your tenth.
With us, you're not just hunting - you're experiencing something bigger.
After the hunt, we ensure that your trophy is handled professionally and according to all applicable rules. Our local partners are responsible for the initial handling - often boiling and preparing for transportation. If you choose a more advanced mount, such as a bow mount, this is often carried out directly on site by local taxidermists. After that, export documents, veterinary certificates and customs documents are handled in cooperation with our experienced freight forwarders.
Waidmann offers help with the entire process - from on-site handling to transportation home. We are there to support you every step of the way and are happy to provide advice on installation and the choice of conservator. At the same time, you as a customer have full freedom to choose to manage the process on your own if you prefer.
The delivery time for trophies varies depending on the country of hunting and the type of trophy, but we will keep you updated throughout the process.
Going on a hunting trip means new experiences and memories for life. Unfortunately, it's not possible to control everything that happens, and sometimes unexpected things happen that can cause problems. So it's good to be insured both before and during your trip.
Often the travel protection included in home insurance and credit cards does not cover everything you need or want.
To make you feel as safe as possible when traveling with us, we have chosen to cooperate with Europeiska ERV, which has over 100 years in the industry. Together with Europeiska ERV, we offer their Travel Insurance Plus and Cancellation Protection. If you want to know more or want to take out an insurance, please contact us and we will help you with this.
The rules for using silencers vary from country to country. In Sweden and many other European countries, silencers are allowed and often recommended for hunting. However, in some countries, such as Spain, Poland, Serbia and Croatia, they are prohibited.
When you book a trip with Waidmann, you will always be given clear information about what applies in the hunting country in question.
Traveling with hunting weapons is possible, but it requires proper documentation and planning. Exactly what is needed depends on the country you are traveling to, but in general the following applies:
European travel: For hunting trips within the EU, a European firearms pass is required, which you apply for at the Police. We recommend that you apply directly when booking, as the processing time can be several weeks. You also need to notify Swedish Customs that you are taking your firearm out of the country. In most cases, a special invitation or hunting license is also required from the country you are going to hunt in - we at Waidmann will make sure you get this in good time.
Read more on the Police website
Travel outside the EU: For example, for Africa or other continents, a temporary arms export via the Swedish Customs is usually required, as well as a hunting license, invitation and sometimes a temporary import license. Rules vary from country to country, but Waidmann ensures that everything is handled correctly from the start, so you avoid uncertainty and hassle upon entry.
Air transportation: Your weapon must be transported in an approved, lockable gun case or bag. Ammunition is packed separately according to the airline's security rules. Weapon transportation must be notified to the airline in advance - if Waidmann books your flight, we will handle this notification and the entire process for you.
Waidmann has extensive experience in hunting trips with weapons and is with you throughout the process. You will receive clear instructions and the right documentation in good time before departure. If you want to travel without your own weapon, it is often possible to rent weapons on site, depending on the destination.
You can definitely book as a solo hunter with Waidmann! We offer both planned trips for single hunters, as well as small and large groups.
We welcome all hunters, whether you are alone or traveling with a group. Many of our hunters find that a hunting trip is a great opportunity to make new friends in hunting. Several of our 'bonded' groups have continued to hunt together years after their first hunting trip with Waidmann.
For those looking for a more personalized experience, we tailor hunting trips for both individual hunters and smaller groups. We also arrange trips for larger groups, where we adapt the experience to the specific needs and wishes of the group. In addition, we have the opportunity to combine several smaller groups to create a common hunting experience, which provides both variety and community.
Whether you are traveling alone or with a group, you can be sure that at Waidmann we will customize your trip to give you the best possible experience.
Booking a hunting trip with Waidmann is easy and we offer several convenient payment options. Here are the steps for booking and payment:
Booking and booking portal: Once you have booked your hunting trip, you will have access to your personal booking portal. In the booking portal, you pay a booking fee of 30% of the total amount of the trip, which must be paid within 10 days for the booking to be confirmed.
In the booking portal, you manage your entire trip - you fill in your contact details, make payments and receive ongoing updates and all important information before departure. Everything in one place.
Flight booking: If Waidmann books the flight for you, the flight cost is paid in full as a second payment at the time of booking the flight.
Final payment: The remaining amount is paid closer to departure, and the final payment must be made at least 40 days before departure.
Trap fees, if any: If there are trap fees, these are payable 24 hours after returning from the trip.
Payment: You can easily pay by card, Trustly, Swish or invoice. If you would like an invoice, please contact us and we will arrange it for you.
Cancellation: In case of cancellation, the following cancellation fees apply:
30% of the price of the trip between the time of booking and 40 days before departure.
100% of the price of the trip between 39 days before departure and the day of departure itself.
Flights: If the flight is booked by Waidmann and you cancel the trip, the flight price is paid at 100%.
We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, especially for exclusive or long-distance trips, to protect yourself against unforeseen events. We offer cancellation cover through ERV.
For questions about payment, booking or cancellation, you are always welcome to contact us. We are here to help you through the whole process.
We recommend that you book your hunting trip at least 6-18 months in advance, especially if you have specific preferences for the type of hunt, destination or timing. Some trips, such as those to popular destinations in high season or with a limited number of places, book up quickly.
However, it is often no problem to book at short notice, as long as there is availability. We have good experience of helping hunters out at short notice when the opportunity exists.
For exclusive or tailor-made hunting trips, as well as trips outside Europe that require more extensive documentation and planning, it is a clear advantage to be in the know well in advance. It gives us a better chance of securing the best hunting grounds, accommodation and flight connections - and you'll have plenty of time to arrange permits, gun exports and other preparations at your leisure.
Absolutely, many of our guests are making their very first hunting trip abroad with us. We have a lot of experience in looking after first-timers and making sure you feel safe throughout the process.
We help you with everything from choosing the right type of hunt and destination to preparation, documentation and equipment. During the trip, you will always have access to experienced guides and organizers who will support you both practically and mentally in the hunt.
For those who do not have their own equipment or want to travel light, it is usually possible to rent weapons and other equipment on site. We also adapt the level of difficulty, organization and expectations to your level of experience.
Whether it's your first hunting trip or you've been out many times before, we'll make sure you have a personalized and professionally executed experience.
