Springbok

The Springbuck is a fast and elegant antelope that thrives in open plains. Known for its high leaps and fine trophies, it is a common game animal on African savannahs and offers both fast-paced and technical hunting.

Springbok

The springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) is a small but lively antelope characterized by its brown back, white belly, and the characteristic white dorsal crest that folds up when the animal becomes excited or frightened. It lives in open plains and often moves in packs. Hunted mainly by stealth or from hiding, the springbok's vigilance and speed make it a sporting animal. The trophy is small but beautiful, with black and white horns. It weighs around 30-40 kg.

  • Type of hunting: Stealth hunting or from a hide in open countryside.
  • Geographical distribution: South Africa, Namibia, Botswana.
  • Tip: Use a low profile and good binoculars. Wind is crucial in open areas. Longer shooting distances are often necessary.
